You want maximum bang for your buck
We offer lower rates than the larger companies (just try to find
this information on their websites). We'll provide you with
a line-itemed estimate so you will see exactly how your budget is
allocated. Larger companies won't do this; they have higher costs
they don't want you to know about. We work efficiently, minimizing
the total cost- and we sweat the details so you can concentrate
on your business.
Compare
by Total Value
Affordability is more than lower cost: it's total value.
One element of value is return on investment. Even a beautiful
site can miss the mark on the business case or selling efficiency.
Understanding your business or organization's revenue model and
target markets is a critical step in defining success criteria.
If you need marketing or content definition for your project, our
Site Analysis service will deliver a professional project
design document that defines your site's goals and content, and
includes a line-itemed proposal. We also bring to the table advanced
imaging, Flash, audio, and 3D visualization, so we can create any
idea you may have.
Cost Items and Variables
Website costs consist of design complexity, content scope (not just
number of pages, but also format complexity),
functionality such as e-commerce or database programming, cost of
assets such as photography and copywriting, and technical ISP server/hosting
requirements.
Estimates
and Bidding
We can work on a fixed-cost estimate basis, or by the hour (time
and materials), whichever you prefer. A fixed-cost estimate requires
that we have a clear understanding of your project via a detailed
project description- if you need such a web plan, we provide can
help you create a project Design Document (see our Site
Analysis service below).

Solution Packages
Our standard
rate is $75/hr. This by itself doesn't mean much until you see how
fast and efficient we are. We do not add contigency costs nor do
we have built-in hidden costs for overhead. You can find cheaper
designers, but consider their overall business and marketing experience.
(We're not fresh out of design school.)
We treat your
project as a custom project. However, we have provided a guide below
with typical project costs. Contact us
and we can help define your project and provide a fixed-cost bid
that fits your budget.
Below you will
find typical costs for web, CD, logo/identity and presentation
projects. Remember, you get what you pay for- the cheapest packages
may not achieve your marketing goals! But you control the budget:
we won't nickel and dime you and we won't upsell unnecessary elements.
Identity Design:
Logos,
Taglines and Color Analysis - typically $100-700
dollars. Logos can be tricky, as we never know how many revisions
we have to do to please the client, so we may ask for hourly billing
with built-in not-to-exceed caps, so you control the cost.
Web:
Site
Analysis - Planning
is the most important- and most-often overlooked- step. A professionally
prepared web/marketing plan will make the project bid-process
much more effective and meaningful when used as an RFQ. We offer
full marketing and project-definition consulting. If you do not
have a specific revenue and content plan for your project, we
can provide you with on-site consulting resulting in a professional
project design document (billed hourly, typically $300-600).
This document includes a specific fixed-bid proposal; we do not
charge you for proposal development time, and we are glad to initially
meet with you at no cost.
Basic Sites - Basic layout, 1 design with variations,
2-4 pages with simple content layouts, and all content provided
to us, ready to go. $1000 (not including hosting)
Standard
Sites - Custom multiple-choice designs with 4-7 subpages
with marketing consulting, highly-formatted content and contact
form. $1.5K-4K depending on scope (not including hosting)
See example
Premium
Sites - Advanced layout
with unlimited pages with highly formatted content, email form,
with image research and/or copywriting. $5K-7K depending
on scope. (not including hosting)
See example
e-Commerce,
Dynamic-content, Database - $8K-$15K (not including
hosting)
See
example
Flash
Elements - add $200-2000 to the total. Full
Flash sites or highly complex elements can be more.
Site
Positioning/Traffic Generation- Priced per keyword
per major engine, basic costs start about $500, plus a
recommended maintenance program. Don't skip site publicity, traffic
is a key element of success. We can also help with active site
marketing.
Presentation Media:
Presentations
and CD-ROMs- these projects can range from very simple
PowerPoint projects to advanced CD-ROM with 3D or video assets.
Plan to spend a few hundred for a basic presentation to several
thousand for an advanced interactive or video-based CD-ROM. Ask
about our very cool business-card sized and multi-shaped CDs (shown
above). CD costs may include packaging, printing and, for large
deployments, replication.
Contract
and Billing
We
have found that billing in thirds is good business practice. We
ask for one third up-front, one-third at the design approval milestone
and the remainder at site launch. We also provide hard-copy invoices
and appropriate tax information.
We provide
an easy-to-read standard development contract that protects both
parties. We also guarantee your privacy and protect your
business model; non-disclosure agreements are fine with us.
